Dr. Ural Aküzüm

Ural Aküzüm received his education at Galatasaray High School, Montpellier University in France for Political Science, and Marmara University Faculty of Law. He completed his doctoral studies in Constitutional Law. He has been involved in various development and investment projects in the Eastern Anatolia and TRA2 regions and assumed the founding presidency of the Serhat Industrial and Business Federation (SERHATSİFED), established by associations in the provinces of Kars-Ardahan-Iğdır and Ağrı.

In his commercial career, Aküzüm has held partnership/ board membership positions in family businesses and managed his own ventures. He has also served as a shareholder, board member, inspector, and auditor in numerous other companies. After serving as the head of the Banking and Finance Department at Bilgi University Vocational School, he currently continues his academic career as an Associate Professor at Bilgi, Gedik, and Yeditepe Universities. As the founding partner of Kabine Law Office, focused on arbitration practices, Aküzüm has been active as a mediator lawyer for nearly 20 years. He is a registered mediator and conciliator at the Ministry of Justice, a notary public, and a trademark & patent attorney registered at the TPE; he has also served as the Deputy Chairman and Secretary-General of the Istanbul Bar Association's Foreign Relations Center. He has published four books and numerous academic articles.

In the field of civil society, he continues to serve as a board member of Bilgi University - Bilgi Education Culture Foundation, Arı Movement, Galatasaray Solidarity Foundation, and as a board member of AmCham Turkey (American Chamber of Commerce in Turkey), DEİK, Turkish-Azerbaijani Friendship Foundation, and Galatasaray Education Foundation. Between 2011 and 2018, he served as a board member of Galatasaray Sports Club and Galatasaray Sportif A.Ş., a publicly traded company listed on Borsa Istanbul.
