Okan Demirkan

Registered at the Istanbul Bar Association, Okan Demirkan completed his academic education in Israel, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom, and began his professional career in 2000. In 2010, he became a partner at Kolcuoğlu Demirkan Koçaklı Law Firm, known by its new name. Okan Demirkan leads the Dispute Resolution, Energy & Infrastructure, and Ethics & Compliance groups at Kolcuoğlu Demirkan Koçaklı Law Firm.

Demirkan has provided detailed legal consultancy throughout the entire legal and regulatory processes of numerous pipeline projects, including the BTC and TANAP pipeline projects. He has also been involved in large-scale natural gas sales, imports, and electricity generation projects.

Okan Demirkan has successfully represented domestic and foreign clients in a wide range of corporate and ad hoc arbitration proceedings, including extensive infrastructure projects such as build-operate-transfer investments, share acquisitions, shareholder agreements, license agreements, and engineering, procurement, and construction contracts. Demirkan represents clients in local litigation processes and occasionally serves as an expert witness in foreign litigation processes. He frequently serves as an arbitrator in arbitration proceedings conducted under the rules of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and the Istanbul Arbitration Center (ISTAC).

Furthermore, Okan Demirkan is a leading figure in ethics and compliance, having conducted various investigations into regulatory matters and allegations of bribery/corruption.
